This guide has been developed to specifically provide guidance on how to work with men who have used violence in their relationships, not victim-survivors. However, we have adapted some of our resources for practitioners who work with victim-survivors within Integrated Support Services (ISS). Links to these can be found in section 5.3 (Understanding risk to partner and children). We do also offer some other considerations for those working within the ISS role in relation to some of Dr Renehan’s research and outcomes from discussions held during our action learning sets. This includes considerations about risk inside the home (section 5.3), considerations for DAPP practitioners relating to safety considerations when ending DAPP programmes and planning in additional support for participants (section 5.6). We intend on developing a specific accompanying guide for the ISS role and would welcome any suggestions via our practitioner questionnaire (which has received ethical approval via Durham University’s Research Ethics Committee) which you can access and respond to via the NDiDA Practice website.
